In 2026, the fight for control the House once again runs straight through New York. This year, we’re working to re-elect Governor Hochul and elect Democrats up and down the ballot, because the future of the country will be shaped by what happens here in our own backyard.At the same time, we are preparing to protect voters and safeguard our elections systems to ensure every eligible New Yorker can cast a ballot without barriers, confusion, or intimidation. This will be an all-hands-on-deck effort across the state and we need you in this fight.

Some answer hotline calls or monitor and assist voters at the polls. Others offer legal support, lead trainings, or show up in their communities to educate, advocate, and inspire.No matter the role, we’re united by a shared mission to build a stronger, more inclusive, and accessible democracy in New York.

Our team provides ample support and training, and ensures volunteers are assigned to a poll site close to home.Voter Protection Phone/Text Bankers - RemoteProtecting the vote in New York requires hundreds of remote and in-person volunteers. Voter Protection Phone &amp; Text Bankers help us build our team by reactivating volunteers to serve as poll watchers! Phone &amp; Text bankers also assist with voter outreach and ballot cure efforts when necessary.Voter Assistance Hotline Workers - RemoteHotline workers provide personalized voting information and real-time support to voters experiencing issues. We provide training on voting procedures, deadlines, and hotline technology, and a hotline captain will always be available to support you during your shift!Tech Captain - RemoteAs a Tech Captain, you’ll serve as a go-to resource for fellow volunteers, offering guidance and support with the key platforms that power our program: LBJ, Slack, Dialpad, and more. This role is perfect for experienced volunteers who are comfortable with our tools and eager to help others get up to speed.Legal Boiler Room Volunteer - In-person (Early Voting and Election Day)As a member of our legal boiler room, you will play a crucial role in monitoring election day activities, providing support to poll observers in the field, and responding to voting issues as they arise. <h2>Voter Protection Committees</h2><h3>CLE &amp; Events Committee</h3>The CLE Committee develops and convenes attorney education programming on topics central to our mission and of interest to members. Do you have an interesting Pro-Voter CLE topic you'd like to see us cover? Help us plan a great CLE!<h3>Legislative Affairs Committee</h3>The Legislative Affairs Committee consults with voting rights advocates and lawmakers to help advance pro-voter policies. The Committee oversees legal research on state and national voting rights issues, advocates for modernizing our voter registration and election administration systems, and assists with bill drafting. Members conduct research, meet with legislators, and apply their skills to advance civil rights.<h3>Minority Voting Rights Committee</h3>The Minority Voting Rights Committee (MVRC) is focused on protecting voting rights for citizens in underserved and underrepresented communities (women, minorities, disabled, youth/elderly voters) through education, organizing, and policy advocacy. MVRC supports voter registration efforts in New York and battleground states. We promote civic engagement by developing pro-voter programming and initiatives to protect and empower our communities. MVRC also works to improve diversity among voting-rights champions.<h3>Media &amp; Branding Committee</h3>Help us amplify our message, engage voters, and defend democracy. We're looking for creative volunteers to support content creation, branding, and digital outreach for New York's Voter Protection efforts. Whether you're experienced in social media strategy, graphic design, or just passionate about protecting the vote, we’d love to have you on the team!
